News

31 Jan 05 CALnet is no longer actively being developed. It has been subsumed into the BOS and EELS (Enterprise E-Learning System - unreleased as of Jan 2005) projects at ILRT.

9 Jun 03 CALnet quiz component set 1.10 available as a download at http://www.webecon.bris.ac.uk/download/quiz110.zip. This is a replacement for the CALnet quiz.txt component set file (replace your old compsets/quiz.txt with this new one). Helen Singer (h.j.singer@herts.ac.uk) contributed the VFrame 1 component - a vertical version of the Frame 1 component. VFrame 1 displays your CALnet page in a frame on the left and an external Web site in the frame on the right. This is useful for documenting Web sites or building tutorials based around external Web sites.

10 Mar 03 CALnet quiz component set 1.09 available as a download at http://www.webecon.bris.ac.uk/download/quiz109.zip. This is a replacement for the CALnet quiz.txt component set file (replace your old compsets/quiz.txt with this new one). This is a bug fix release that works around a problem incorporating calnet pages into Zope.

2 May 02 CALnet quiz component set 1.08 available as a download at http://www.webecon.bris.ac.uk/download/quiz108.zip. This is a replacement for the CALnet quiz.txt component set file (replace your old compsets/quiz.txt with this new one). This is just a bug fix release that corrects a javascript error in the Fill in the Gaps question.

1 Mar 02 CALnet 1.06 is now available as a Windows installable download at http://www.webecon.bris.ac.uk/download/calnet106.exe. This version includes the latest quiz component set (1.07!), an updated default component set, minorly updated documentation. Installation problems with Windows 2000 and XP have now been fixed by updating to a newer version of InstallShield (although you probably need to be logged in as an Administrator to install the software on NT/2000/XP).

18 Feb 02 CALnet quiz component set 1.07 available as a download at http://www.webecon.bris.ac.uk/download/quiz107.zip. This is a replacement for the CALnet quiz.txt component set file (replace your old compsets/quiz.txt with this new one). This one includes all the features from 1.06 plus lower-case HTML tags throughout, styles instead of fonts and it adds an extra question type called "True, False, Don't know" (ie. TFD Choices).

15 Nov 01 CALnet 1.06 quiz component set available as a download at http://www.webecon.bris.ac.uk/download/quiz106.zip. This is a replacement for the CALnet 1.05 quiz.txt component set file (replace your old compsets/quiz.txt with this new one). It is the same one in the 1.06 download below and contains all that is important in the 1.06 upgrade - especially a change to the way split screen pages work inside VLEs like Blackboard or WebCT.

15 Nov 01 CALnet 1.06 is now available for download at http://www.webecon.bris.ac.uk/download/calnet106.zip. This release enhances the quiz component set. At this point in time the downloadable version does not have an installation program, but if you are a Java user already then you just need to run 'java -classpath "" CALnet -gui'. If you have CALnet 1.05 then you can unzip this version over the top of the previous install - replacing the older files. NOTE: If you are a Mac or Linux user then this version is all there is.

18 Aug 00 CALnet 1.05 is now available for download at http://www.ilrt.bris.ac.uk/calnet/manual/page2.htm#section5. This is mainly a bug fix release although it also includes component sets for WebEcon licence holders to use to extend or customise the WebEcon 1.0 (WinEcon II) courseware.
